ADHD / Learning Disorders Learning disability refers to a person's inability or difficulty to learn in a manner that is typical for their age or developmental stage. Learning disabilities are generally caused by unknown factors. Although individuals with learning disabilities tend to struggle learning in a "typical manner" this does not mean they are unable to learn in a different manner. It is oftentimes more accurate to describe learning disabilities as learning differences in order to avoid negative stereotyping.
